Nikkel’s love of movement and exercise began at the young age of three when she started taking ballet classes. She danced throughout her childhood on competitive dance teams and later competed at the National level with her high school cheer squad. This love of dance followed her to the University of Idaho where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership/Administration. This is where she discovered the joy of running, group fitness and high-intensity exercise. Nikkel spent several years teaching group exercise classes at Gold’s Gym and Axiom. Nikkel has always been attracted to fast paced, high energy exercise, but after becoming a mom to two sweet little girls, her body craved a change.
Shortly after her second child was born, Nikkel took her first Barre class. She knew immediately that this type of movement was just what she’d been looking for. After taking Barre classes for several months her body began to transform in a way it never had before. Nikkel was formally trained from a Denver based Barre empire, Barre Forte. She then began teaching Barre classes at Essential Hot Yoga, the Gym on 8th and Main, and the Downtown YMCA. Opening Barre Bliss with her partner whom she met while teaching at the Y, is a dream come true.
When not in the studio, you will find Nikkel teaching morning kindergarten at Riverside Elementary, hanging with her husband and two amazing girls (age 6 and 4), or running along the river with her beloved yellow lab, Maddie. An Idaho native, Nikkel can’t pass up any opportunity to spend the weekends camping, hiking, or snowboarding in the mountains.

Lynaya has been energetic her entire life and never missed an opportunity to be active and social. At the age of seven she formally started dance classes; enjoying multiple formats including ballet, tap, jazz and hip-hop. In high school she performed on a traveling team and participated in multiple sports. When she met her husband Dana in 2001 her love of fitness expanded to incorporate a regular routine of weights within the gym and varying formats of cardio. In 2005 this led to her first exposure of group fitness and yoga, which again opened up more avenues for being active and social.
In 2015, after delivering three wonderful children, Lynaya underwent surgery for a complete female reconstruction. Knowing there would be a long recovery process, yet still wanting a great workout, she searched for something that was challenging while also being low impact. This is when she discovered Barre. It didn't take long for her to see it was a perfect fit. Within a couple months she certified with Beyond Barre out of New York and started teaching Barre classes at the YMCA. For Lynaya to have the opportunity to open Barre Bliss with a fellow passionate Barre enthusiast has been a dream opportunity.
During free time, Lynaya enjoys time with her wonderful husband and three amazing kids (ages, 8, 6, and 4). Every day is another adventure in their household as they enjoy this wonderful life God has given them.
